We just finished an RV rental through RVShare and then saw the claims of $237.88 against our security deposit(this is in additiona to $509 for the rental and $200 for drivers insurance). The owner of the RV claimed 766 ADDITIONAL miles. We just drove to Morro Dunes RV park and back from my home : 811 N 10th st. San Jose. We also drove 23 miles(round trip) to pickup and drop the RV. In total we only drove 373 (Morro Dunes RV park round trip)+ 23(to pick up the RV from Santa Teresa Shopping Complex parking lot) = 396 (total) miles. As per the listing 150 were free miles for 3 days(50 miles per day), so finally additional miles is 246!! But the owner claimed 766 ADDITIONAL miles and charged my card (saved with RVShare) for $237.88. This looks like a scam!! I'm not sure if RVShare is also making money out of that portion of money but this is sheer CHEATING. Finally $100 for cleaning this 14 years old RV?? This is UNFAIR! We cleaned the interiors and returned it back in the SAME condition as we received. We obviously didn't wash the exteriors or interiors, we just vacuumed it. The RV was literally parked at Morro Dunes RV park and we did not even use the bathrooms since the RV park has big, nice and clean bathrooms. Is that what is expected as part of RV share rentals??? I payed $509 for 3 days (essentially 2 days as we returned the RV in 2 days and the owner would not rent for less than 3 days). This is a VERY BAD way of running a business. I emailed RV share, messaged the owner but nothing happended till now. RVShare said they contacted the owner and were informed that this extra charge was some sort of overrage charge!!! Overrage of what? How? Where is the proof? We can show the Video from Morro Dunes RV park showing the RV was just parked for 2 days and we also have confirmation of pickup and drop time/day. So a sincere advise to everyone out there NEVER EVER rent an RV from this guy and please try to avoid using RVShare as well since they are of no use. Go look for some better company with better customer focus. I'll still challenge this charge through BBB, my card company and involve a lawyer if need be. It's no longer only about the money, it's also about ethics and daylight robbery. I'll do whatever I can to inform everyone about this conspiracy.
