About the Role:

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate designer who has demonstrated the use of human-centered design principles to create and ship new, innovative digital product experiences. We believe that great design has the ability to engage and inspire our renters and owners and we strive to rethink and redefine how our RVshare users interact. We are looking for a designer that is a strategic thinker and conceptual problem solver to create new products and experiences. You’ll work closely with product, marketing, and development partners in discovery and testing, launch and optimization of new products and campaigns.

The scope of design efforts spans Product and Marketing and includes the entire renter and owner sections of the site, ongoing new feature development, and optimization, brand definition, and experience, offline and online marketing efforts across all channels.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Craft customized marketing experiences, both online and offline, that drive growth
  • Partner with copywriters, engineers, and marketing managers to ensure quality in all aspects of campaign execution
  • Collaborate closely with product management and development teams to build and innovate new features and experiences for RVshare
  • Design and validate new experiences via mockups, wireframes, flow diagrams, sketches, and other UX artifacts
  • Leverage interaction design to make complex workflows simple and straightforward 
  • Incorporate usability and prototype testing in almost everything you do
  • Work in a cross-functional team and with substantial ownership to make a strong impact on our products and marketing efforts
  • Develop a deep understanding of all facets of the customer experience, together with a thorough knowledge of the design process, and various techniques to dissect problems and generate new approaches and solutions
  • Build lasting relationships with multiple product teams and contribute to an open, creative, dynamic, and productive atmosphere

Who We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience with User-Centered Design, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, and UI Design including a strong track record with internet marketplaces
  • 3+ years of experience with responsive and mobile design
  • 2+ years of experience with mobile app design, iOS and Android 
  • 2+ years experience of user recruitment, participant scheduling, moderator guide development, and facilitation of User Tests as well as incorporating insights and findings into designs
  • Expert knowledge of tools like; Sketch, Adobe Xd, Figma.
  • Must value data-informed design decisions, have a natural drive to connect with our users and turn their feedback into insights and new solutions
  • Must have a diverse portfolio that shows good aesthetic judgment and attention to detail
  • Be a self-motivated person who enjoys shipping quickly and iterating based on customer feedback
  • You are comfortable being a proactive part of any project, defining measures of success, creatively finding ways to test your assumptions, and also participating in product discussions
  • Must obsess over how visitors experience websites. And obsess about what drives visitor’s emotions, attitudes, and behaviors
  • A passion for storytelling, an obsession with creativity, and a commitment to craftsmanship
  • Has designed world-class web apps
  • Familiarity with the value of design systems, understanding reuse and scale, and knowing when to contribute to make them better

Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

About the Role:

For this position we are in need of a senior level full stack developer with experience in React and Ruby on Rails.  You will be working with a cutting edge team of engineers who are tasked with creating new product features, improving existing technologies, and driving our software into the future!  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • A minimum of 5 years of Full Stack Software Development experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of Ruby on Rails experience, with an understanding of REST APIs and development of APIs using Ruby on Rails.
  • A minimum of 2 years of React experience, with an understanding of standards and practices used in React development
  • Understanding of Test Driven Development.
  • An understanding of MYSQL databases and how to build data schemas in an efficient and performant way.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile work environment.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, preffered.
  • Experience with Node.js, preferred.
  • Familiarity with A/B Testing frameworks, preferred.

Who We're Looking For:

As a Senior Software Engineer at RVshare, you will be tasked with larger, more complex problem solving tasks.  You should be results driven, efficient, and ready to be a major player on a team in a growing business working with cutting edge technologies.  

  • You can expect to be asked to architect a plan for how to implement a certain new feature, be tasked with planning how to fix a data structure or asked to conceptualize a plan to improve site performance. 
  • You should be able to document and easily communicate your plan to other team members and put together broad estimates on the time involved in achieving the goal. 
  • You should be able to understand the impact and curve balls that may come out of the implementation and provide solutions to deal with those potential issues. 
  • You should be able to quickly implement solutions when tasked and your code should be well tested, very clean, and you should be able to easily communicate issues when they arise, providing solutions while maintaining coding standards and best practices. 
  • You will be expected to be a mentor to junior and mid-level engineers.  We work collaboratively here and as a Senior engineer you are expected to help the less experienced members of the team grow and achieve their goals.
  • The product and management teams will lean on you to leverage your expertise when driving our software into the future. 
  • You are expected to carry yourself in a way that brings positivity and leadership to the workplace, challenging ideas when you feel we are headed down the wrong path and coming up with new ways to improve our software.

Engineering Manager

About the Role:

The Engineering Manager position is responsible for helping to direct a software development team in all phases of the software lifecycle.  Our teams are responsible for full-stack development and consist of front-end, back-end and QA engineers. This position reports to the VP of Technology and involves frequent interactions with Product Managers and other software development teams. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Mentoring, coaching and monitoring the performance of the software development team.
  • Ensuring the team is following prescribed processes and best practices to produce high-quality software.
  • Participation in the hiring process for interviewing and evaluating candidate engineers.
  • Researching, evaluating and scoping of project requirements with product managers to help them define project roadmaps.
  • Reviewing the team’s technical designs and solutions.
  • Working with fellow engineering managers and key decision-makers to help improve processes, refine the technical roadmap and prepare the engineering teams for further growth.

Who We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have started their career as a software engineer and evolved to become an experienced manager, preferably in an agile, start-up environment.  They should have the range to manage engineers, evaluate requirements, review technical designs and contribute in helping the company scale its engineering department. They are also passionate about wanting to work in and foster a collaborative, respectful and productive work environment.

  • 3 to 5 years managing software development teams.
  • 3 to 5 years as a hands-on software engineer.
  • Proven ability to work closely with Product Managers during the  planning and execution phases to deliver successful projects.
  • Experience as hiring manager for software developed roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with full-stack development of customer-facing web applications in a cloud hosted environment.
  • Experience managing a remote team.
