A Class B campervan can handle the windy mountain roads of Colorado easily, and is a fun way to explore the state. Tourist Attractions 

The Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the top tourist attractions in Denver, offering many different live shows and events every year. You can get tickets that put you in the first few rows or opt for seats near the back to experience the sounds around you. When performers aren’t putting on a show, Red Rocks is also open for hiking, or browsing the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, or exercising by running laps on the grueling amphitheater steps. 

Many visitors also enjoy the Denver Botanic Gardens and Denver Art Museum downtown. The art museum has many traveling exhibits from across the country, as well as permanent works. 

The Denver Zoo is also a popular attraction, with live shows and shopping as well as animal exhibits and a few restaurants. Since 1982, beer lovers have been traveling to Denver, Colorado to take part in The Great American Beer Festival - the premier beer festival in the U.S. Also, every January, more than 30 longhorn cattle parade the streets of Denver to kick off the National Western Stock Show. Later during the stock show, prizewinning steers get the chance to visit the ritzy Brown Palace Hotel lobby and strut their stuff. 

Sports and Entertainment 

Sports fans will find a number of teams playing in Denver, including the NFL’s Broncos, and baseball’s Colorado Rockies. Tailgate in historic LoDo before a ballgame, or watch the Nuggets play basketball or an Avalanche hockey game at the Pepsi Center. College football is also popular, and every fall brings The Rocky Mountain Showdown - the state’s biggest college rivalry between the CU Buffs in Boulder and the CSU Rams from Ft. Collins.

Highways & Airports near Denver 

The city streets in Denver follow a grid pattern that makes it easy for travelers to get around. When you travel in an RV, you may find that the congestion in the city and the slow traffic make it difficult to maneuver your vehicle, and it’s certainly easier to drive a car around downtown. Both Interstate 70 and Interstate 25 serve the city. Interstate 70 runs from east to west across Colorado and through several other states, whereas Interstate 25 connects Denver to Wyoming and New Mexico. Other highways you can access with your RV rental in Denver include Highway 93, Interstate 270, and the 6th Avenue freeway. 

Denver’s airport is locally known as DIA, but the actual airport code is DEN. It’s one of the busiest airports in the country and is located east of downtown, about a twenty minute drive from the metro area. There is a hotel on-site at the airport, and numerous car rental agencies. Colorado Springs, about an hour south, has a smaller regional airport that flies to some destinations in the U.S., but many people make the drive to DIA for their flight.
