The Friends-Concord Point Lighthouse is located on the eastern side of the Susquehanna River, about 20 miles below Havre de Grace. It was built in 1828 and was originally called the U.S. Light House at Concord Point. The lighthouse has been restored to its original condition with period furnishings and artifacts. The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum has been named one of America's best small towns to visit by Smithsonian Magazine, noted for its gorgeous location at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay where it meets the Susquehanna River. Visitors can explore the beautiful Susquehanna State Park grounds, which offer year-round fishing and hiking experiences or learn about the area's history at museums such as the privately-operated Steppingstone Museum.
Shenandoah National Park is located about 45 minutes southeast of Havre de Grace. Skyline Drive, which runs through the park, is an excellent road for RVing. Susquehanna State Park is located on the banks of the Susquehanna River in Havre de Grace. The park offers 10 campsites for tent campers and 50 sites for those with RVs. Facilities include restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and fire rings. A visitor center offers exhibits about the history of the Susquehanna River and wildlife in the area. Pets are welcome at this park, but they must be leashed at all times.
