Visitors often enjoy gazing at the iconic New River Gorge Bridge, which spans the gorge itself in dramatic fashion.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park  

About four hours west of Holly Hill, South Carolina, is popular Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Millions of people visit this sprawling, welcoming park because of its panoramic vistas, abundant wildlife, and wide variety of activities. Whether you want to hike the Appalachian Trail, go fishing on some of the park’s 2,100 miles of rivers and streams, or relax and watch the world go by outside of your camper, you’ll have plenty of opportunities for recreation at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 

Congaree National Park  

Congaree National Park is only 45 minutes from Santee, South Carolina. Many travelers associate tall, ancient trees with the West Coast, but Congaree is home to some trees that are believed to be more than 1,000 years old. Others are not quite as old but are still tall--five are even the tallest of their kind in all of America. Most of the hiking trails are flat here, so this is a great place to take a leisurely trek through a fascinating hardwood forest. You can also boat and fish on the Congaree River, which winds its way through the park.

Harold Parker State Park  

Harold Parker State Park is about 25 minutes east of Lowell, Massachusetts, and is an early stop on your Nashua to Tybee Island RV road trip. Roughly 35 miles of trails take visitors past ponds, over hills, through swamps, and more. There are 11 ponds here, so there’s no shortage of great places for fishing and boating; you can also go swimming at Berry Pond.

Mashamoquet Brook State Park  

Mashamoquet Brook State Park is also only 25 minutes off your route, so you should definitely head east from Union, Connecticut, to visit. More than 1,000 acres of lovely Connecticut countryside contain stone features like Indian Chair and Table Rock as well as historic sites like the Wolf Den and the Clayton Grist Mill. Swimming, picnicking, hiking, and fishing are all popular activities here.

Lake Anna State Park  

Half an hour west of Thornburg, Virginia, is Lake Anna State Park. Lake Anna itself is the main attraction, so this is an excellent place to swim, fish, and boat. You can even get a bite to eat at the snack bar located close to the swimming beach. If you visit at the right time, you might be able to go panning for gold in a ranger-led event. 

Medoc Mountain State Park  

Since Medoc Mountain State Park is only 15 minutes west of Enfield, North Carolina, it’s an easy destination to reach on your road trip from Nashua to Tybee Island. There are plenty of ways to explore Medoc Mountain thanks to the 10 miles of hiking trails, 10 miles of equestrian trails, and 9 miles of multi-use trails in the park. If you want to drop a line in some water, head over to Little Fishing Creek and try your luck at catching bass, sunfish, and bluegill.

Hunting Island State Park  

Before you reach the Georgia coast at the end of your Nashua to Tybee Island RV road trip, you should travel an hour southwest of Yemassee, South Carolina, to amazing Hunting Island State Park. If you want to visit a location in the barrier islands that has it all, then Hunting Island is the place to go. The Worcester Art Museum is only two minutes off of your route in Downtown Worcester, so you should put it on your road trip itinerary from Nashua to Tybee Island. Garden areas like the National Grove of State Trees, the Asian Collections, the Gotelli Conifer Collection, and more await you.

The Poe Museum  

The Poe Museum is only five minutes from the heart of Richmond, Virginia, and two minutes from Interstate 95 as it goes through town. If you want to see personal belongings and memorabilia about legendary writer Edgar Allen Poe, then The Poe Museum is a must-stop on your road trip from Nashua to Tybee Island.
