Some boating and fishing activities that can be done at BLM Rockhouse Recreation Area include canoeing, kayaking, rafting, and fishing along the Colorado River. The campground has a boat ramp that allows motorized boats. More fishing and boating can be done at nearby River Island State Park on the shores of the Colorado River there.

Take a trip about 12 miles away to River Island State Park where you can view desert mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep and coyotes within the open meadows and riverbanks of the park. The Crack Canyon features several open spaces where stargazing can be done. The absence of artificial lighting brings the sky to life with great views of constellations and the Milky Way. To get to Rock House Recreation Area from Kingsman, Arizona, head south on N 4th St toward E Andy Devine Ave/W Historic Rte 66. Then, take I-40 W and AZ-95 S to Parker Dam Rd in Parker Strip. From there, drive to Parker Dam Rd in San Bernardino County. The BLM Rock House Visitor Center will be on your right.
