Unfortunately, there are no fishing or boating opportunities within the Sand to Snow National Monument BLM site. However, several nearby lakes and rivers offer excellent fishing and boating opportunities. The nearby Big Bear Lake is a popular destination for boating and fishing. Boat rentals are available, and you can fish the waters for various species, including rainbow trout and bass. Lake Arrowhead has a marina that offers boat rentals and guided fishing trips.

One popular climbing spot is Holcomb Valley Pinnacles, located about 25 miles north of the monument. The area has options for sport climbing, traditional climbing, and bouldering. Also, the Castle Rock area offers a range of climbing options, including bolted sports routes and traditional crack climbs. The monument also offers several climbing opportunities, including the rock formations near the South Fork Santa Ana River.
