It's true that there's something nostalgic about tent camping. However, in Colorado, you are definitely rolling the dice, whatever time of year you try it. The rain is unpredictable, and even in the summer, overnight temperatures can dip into the 40's, so being trapped in an 8'x8' dome tent when it's raining or chilly gets old really fast, and if you have kids, they might not want to come back after that. Not cool. We rented a popup camper ourselves, and realized it was absolutely the way to go. A popup is lightweight and affordable, while also offering excellent space for sleeping and cooking and relaxing. The basic amenities (sink, stove, heater, fridge) are all there if you want them, but not essential to use. Our 2015 popup comes stocked with all the basic supplies you will need, and step by step instructions that will help you setup and teardown with confidence. New for 2018, we had the axle and bearings tuned up, thermostat replaced, and added a backup buddy heater that can hook into the propane tank. I hope you will consider our camper as an option, but more importantly, I hope you have a great time however you choose to camp.
