Mount Rainier National Park

Mount Rainier National Park is one of the most iconic landmarks in America. Mount Rainier is an active volcano and the most glaciated peak in the continental United States, and the surrounding area is packed with old-growth forests and beautiful meadows. Several quiet little towns lie at the foot of Mount Rainier and offer many shops and greasy spoons where you can grab a bite. The park is open year-round. In the winter, you must visit Crystal Mountain, Mount Rainier's exclusive ski resort. If you want to climb Mount Rainier, you will need a guide and special permission, but the view from the ground should be enough for most visitors.

Olympic National Park
