The annual California Watermelon Festival dates back to the early 1960s, and its objective is to create a fun festival using a “Watermelon Theme” with food, games, and live art. You will enjoy unique watermelon dishes from a variety of food vendors, and massive visual art. The tradition of serving free all-you-can-eat watermelon has always been the staple of the festival and one of its drawing cards. You can rent an RV to enhance your stay at a local campground while you enjoy a sweet slice of California at the Watermelon Festival.
All ticket holders can enjoy unlimited farm fresh and chilled watermelon slices being handed out for free during the festival! Other activities and goodies include:
The Kid’s Zone includes Melon-Dramatic Children’s Theater, Wildlife of the World Exhibit, pony rides, petting zoo, carnival rides, and much more.
The all-day free activities include watermelon carvings, live art, custom cars, BMX bike show, and live bands performing.
Additional attractions include rock climbing, a beer garden, and a culinary pavilion. And don’t miss the Sunday watermelon inspired costume contest with the chance to win a cash prize.
• A baby changing station and nursing station is next to the rest area of the Kid’s Zone
• There is a lost and found at the Information Booth near the entrance.
• Sanitary facilities are on-site
