The 10 Best RV Shows in Florida

Ah, Florida. There’s no place else quite like it in America — or the world, for that matter.

This sunny state has so much more to offer than beautiful beaches and palm trees… although there’s nothing wrong with digging your toes into its sandy shores. And if you want to see a world-class sunrise or sunset, there’s no better place on earth than along Florida’s eastern and western coastlines, respectively.

Camping in Florida can be an incredible and versatile adventure, even if you never leave the state. You might start out sipping cocktails and noshing on fresh seafood on the gulf beaches only to find yourself in a dense, magnolia-strewn forest in the northeast a few days later. That’s not to mention the snorkleable springs, hike-and-bikeable trails, and even caves that can be found across the state’s center. You’ll encounter animals ranging from tall, stalking storks to exotic iguanas and alligators. And, of course, Florida’s got some incredible cities, too, whether you’re looking to party in Miami or have some wholesome fun with the kids at one of Orlando’s theme parks. It’s even home to the oldest city in the country — the Spanish-settled St. Augustine, Florida, just an hour south of Jacksonville.

Perhaps precisely because it does have so much natural beauty, culture, wildlife, and diversity to explore, Florida’s also one of the best states to visit if you’re looking to experience a camper and RV show. The state hosts some of the best-known motorhome shows in the nation, and vendors of all stripes travel from far and wide to participate.

And if you’re a Florida native, you’re in even more luck. Florida’s deceptively big — about 500 miles long as the crow flies. That means you might have to drive six hours or more to hit a camping show if it’s on the other side of the state.

The 10 Best RV Shows in Florida

But fortunately, there are so many RV camper shows that take place here, you’re likely to find one closer to your area. Floridians never have to wonder, “Why aren’t there ever any RV shows near me?”

With so many travel trailer shows and expos to choose from, however, it can be difficult to discern which ones are the best and most worthy of your time. So we put together this list of some of our favorite RV shows in Florida — and trust us, you won’t be disappointed with any of them.

3. West Palm Beach RV Show

West Palm is already a worthy destination. Nestled just an hour or so north of Miami, this south Florida city has a decidedly more laid-back feel than its southern counterparts, and its beaches are just as beautiful (and less crowded, to boot!). And thanks to the February dates of the West Palm Beach RV Show, you’ll get to experience this stunning seaside spot in slightly-less-than-torturous temperatures.

Why you’ll love the West Palm Beach RV Show

Another show put on by the FRVTA, you can trust that the West Palm Beach RV Show will have plenty of high-quality rigs on offer, not to mention tons of fun. In 2019, almost 10,000 people attended, so the outlook looks good for the 2020 version of this RV and camper expo!

South Florida is home to tons of different RV dealerships and vendors, so you’ll get to pick from the cream of the crop when you attend this show. And with all of them huddled under one roof — or at least, in the same sprawling campus of the South Florida Fairgrounds — competition between dealers will be up, which means great deals for you!

Tampa RV Shows

Many people only think of Miami when they think of “south Florida” — but the Bay Area of the east is way down south, too! Here are some amazing RV and camper shows to visit in the year 2020 and beyond.

4. Florida RV Supershow

Florida RV Super Show

Coming up on its 35th year running, the Florida RV Supershow is the largest RV show in Florida — and, according to many campers and attendees, one of the biggest and best in the world.

It’s hard to argue against that point, considering it sprawls across over 26 acres of the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. More than 450 vendors attend, ready to help you maximize your camping experience with their cutting-edge goods and services. All of Florida’s top RV dealers are represented.

Why you’ll love the Florida RV Supershow

Besides the baffling number of vendors, you’ll also have the chance to walk through rigs of all different makes, models, and styles. That’s a great way to learn more about different manufacturers, and also to get a better feel for which kind of RV might be right for you.

Furthermore, Tampa is also home to Lazy Days, one of the largest RV dealerships in America. So even if you don’t find your dream vehicle during the fair itself, you have a fantastic, well-regarded (and huge in its own right!) sales center just up the road.

It’s just $14 to dry camp at the Fairgrounds, and your ticket price gets you a second day’s entry free — so why not make a weekend out of it? That way, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the fair, visit the dealership, and still get a taste of the local flavor. (Don’t miss grabbing a grouper sandwich up in Clearwater!)

Why you’ll love the Tampa Bay Summer RV Show

Enjoy exploring everything the southwestern Florida camping community has to offer in the Florida State Fairground’s covered — and air conditioned — show center. Plus, last year, the FRVTA put out a coupon to get you a buck off your ticket, which is already pretty darn cheap!

RV Shows in Central Florida

Florida’s coasts may get all the glory, but locals know there’s a whole lot of beauty in the heart of the state. If you call the “real” Florida home, here are some RV shows for you to put on your calendar.

7. Ocala RV Show

Not every great RV show in Florida takes place along the southwestern coast. In fact, this one’s pretty darn central — which means you’ll be able to get to it in just a few hours, no matter what part of the state you call home.

Why you’ll love the Ocala RV Show

Held annually in the beautiful Florida Horse Park, the Ocala RV Show exhibits the wares of over a dozen RV dealers from across the state on average. In 2016, over 4,500 campers attended to explore the huge number of motorhomes, travel trailers, and nifty new camping technologies vendors laid out for guests.

Plus, Ocala’s close by to several classic Florida destinations, from Weeki Wachee’s mermaid shows to the bright lights and roller coasters of Disney World. After you’re done exploring the show, you’ll find no shortage of Florida State and RV parks in the area, whether you want to boondock or get set up fancy-style in a campground with hookups.

It’s the perfect opportunity to create a central Florida vacation — especially since it’s held in early spring, when it’s not yet hot and humid enough to melt you and your family into a puddle!

Jacksonville RV Shows

10. Jacksonville RV Show

With almost 8,000 campers attending in 2016 alone, there’s no question this is one of the largest and most popular RV shows in the state of Florida. Conclusion

Whether you’re into rigorous outdoor adventures or just relaxing by the water, Florida is the perfect place to take a camping trip. The state is big enough, diverse enough — and, let’s be honest, weird enough (I can say so; I’m a native) — to truly offer something for everybody on board your motorhome.

Furthermore, the state’s vast array of RV shows are well-known across the country. (Psst — this list just features a few of the best. There are dozens more RV events and expos that take place in Florida, and even the smaller ones generally put on a pretty good show!)

If you’re in the market for a new rig or just want to learn more about your favorite manufacturer’s newest offerings, Florida’s huge number of dealerships and robust RV camping community can’t be beat. And all of those elements come together during its famous camping expos!

So if you’re ready to see what the southernmost state is really like, pack up your rig and head on down. (Don’t have one of your own yet? No worries — there are tons of RVs for rent in Florida, both in the commercial and rent-by-owner markets.)

You’re bound to encounter wonderful new landscapes, ideas, and animals… and when you attend a Florida RV show, you’ll more than likely make a few new friends, too.
