Explore Warren, Pennsylvania, in an RVshare RV Rental

Warren and the surrounding area were originally part of the Cornplanter Tract. The government gave the land to John "Cornplanter" Abeel, a Seneca Native American, for his personal use in 1796. He promptly opened it up for settlement, and 400 Senneca Native Americans soon moved to the area. Several generations lived on the land, but the 1918 flu pandemic mainly wiped out the tribe. The government built the Kinzua Dam to create the Allegheny Reservoir on this tract. Take the short drive to Kinzua State Park to view the Kinzua Gorge and tour the museum to learn more about this area's history.

Simultaneously, Andrew Elliott laid out plans for the city. The original town surrounded a public square, which is now Wetmore Park. You will want to follow the walking trails to visit this city's 21 parks. While exploring, visit Liberty Street Lunch, Chido's Fried Chicken, or Jack's Tap House.

This community has over 600 historical buildings. Take time to explore many of these buildings on a walking tour of the district, starting at the Warren County Historical Society's structure, which workers constructed in 1873 in the Second Empire Style. Next to the museum is the Noyes-Donaldson House, which is one of the oldest homes in this city of 9,000 people. Workers constructed it in 1845, and you will love its Greek Revival architecture.
