Compare RVs For Rent in Utah

Utah is peak RV territory — Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef are all within a 200-mile stretch of each other, making it one of the most rewarding road trip states in the country. You'll find a wide variety of RVs for rent by owner in the RVshare marketplace.

Before booking, it helps to know which type of RV fits your itinerary. RVshare offers three main classes:

  • Class A — Full-size motorhomes, best for resort-style campgrounds and long drives between the Mighty 5. Keep in mind that Zion's main canyon road is closed to private vehicles during peak season — and Bryce Canyon's scenic drive restricts rigs over 25 feet at certain overlooks. Know your length before booking.

  • Class B — Camper vans, ideal for accessing Utah's more remote parks and campgrounds, fitting into tighter sites near Moab or Capitol Reef, and navigating the narrow switchbacks that larger rigs simply can't handle.

  • Class C — Mid-size motorhomes, the most versatile option for families doing a Mighty 5 loop. A strong choice for campgrounds with hookups at Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Arches, where Class C rigs have the most access without size restrictions.

Once you know your size and towing preference, you'll be able to compare prices, amenities, the ability to bring pets, heating and cooling, extras, and height of the vehicle, which can restrict access on some of Utah's most scenic byways and canyon roads.

Average Utah RV Rental Prices

Prices vary by type. RV rentals in Utah average $216/night across all types. Motorhomes range from $149/night for Class B camper vans — the most affordable and most flexible for Utah's varied terrain — up to $185/night for Class A motorhomes. Travel trailers start around $110/night, fifth wheels from $140/night — both popular choices for longer stays at Moab or Zion campgrounds where you can unhitch and use your tow vehicle to explore.

What to Know Before Booking Your Utah RV Trip

Utah's Mighty 5 are among the most competitive campgrounds in the country — plan these details before you book anything else:

  • Plan your itinerary around Utah's Mighty 5. Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef are all within a 200-mile stretch in southern Utah. Plan at least one full day per park minimum — most RVers underestimate how much time each deserves. Each park has a separate reservation system on Recreation.gov, with different timed-entry permits, vehicle reservations, and shuttle requirements. Read each park's NPS page before booking anything else.

  • Size your RV carefully — Utah's roads will test you. Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is shuttle-only from spring through fall — private vehicles are not permitted during peak season, so your RV stays at Watchman or South Campground while you ride the free NPS shuttle. Bryce Canyon's scenic drive accommodates RVs up to 25 feet without a permit; longer rigs require special permits at certain overlooks. Arches' main road is paved and accommodates most RV sizes, but trailhead parking like Delicate Arch fills before 8 a.m. in summer. Class B and C rigs give you the most flexibility across all five parks.

  • Book campgrounds and permits months in advance. 60% of RV travelers plan to visit a national park or scenic area in 2026 — and Utah is at the top of that list. Zion's Watchman Campground opens reservations 6 months in advance and sells out within minutes for spring and fall weekends. Arches requires a timed entry permit from April through October. Bryce rim campgrounds sit at 8,000+ feet — temperatures run 20–30°F cooler than canyon floors below, even in summer. Plan your entire Utah trip around campground availability first.

  • Factor in the full cost of desert driving. Utah's Scenic Byway 12 winds through Capitol Reef and Bryce Canyon country with tight switchbacks and very limited services. Gas prices in rural Utah can run $0.50–$1.00 more per gallon than Salt Lake City. Fill up before leaving any town, carry extra water, and fill your fresh water tank at every opportunity — services between Bryce, Capitol Reef, and Canyonlands are limited. Torrey and Moab are the primary service towns for southern Utah itineraries.

  • Arrange for pickup or delivery based on your entry point. Flying into Salt Lake City? Many owners deliver directly to campgrounds near Zion or Bryce Canyon, saving you from navigating an unfamiliar rig on mountain roads. Doing a southern Utah loop? Consider a one-way rental from Las Vegas (160 miles to Zion) — one of the most popular RV routes in the Southwest.

RV Dump Stations in Utah

Magna Wastewater Treatment Plant offers a free dump station for all users from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday. Many Maverick gas stations across the state also offer free dump stations available 24/7.

Popular RV Storage Facilities in Utah

Summit Storage has covered indoor RV storage with parking spaces of between 30 and 40 feet. Its operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Sunday. Armor Storage of Nibley has parking spaces for different sizes of RVs, with some spaces reaching up to 50 feet. They offer open parking for $40 a month, or you could opt for closed parking for $220 a month.

Best National Parks in Utah

Capitol Reef National Park is the best place for adventure because there are rocks, cliffs, domes, canyons, unique rock formations, and bridges. It is also home to the famous Waterpocket fold. The national park is also surrounded by landmarks such as Cathedral Valley, Chimney Rock Pillar, and the Hickman Bridge Arch.

Canyonlands National Park is the largest among the five national parks in Utah. It has beautifully colored desert landscapes and remarkable views that attract visitors from all over. Inside the Horseshoe Canyon are Native American rock paintings that give you a glimpse into historical times.

Arches National Park offers you the chance to explore the most well-photographed places in the U.S. Within 100 square miles, over 2,000 natural sandstone arches cover the area. Visitors can also explore bars, shops, restaurants, and cultural pursuits. Also, the Museum of Moab and the Moab Museum of Film and Western Heritage are must-visit locations.

Popular State Parks in Utah

Huntington State Park is a common ground for migratory bird species. Since it is a warm water reservoir, it is the perfect area for outdoor activities. Also, it offers fishing opportunities. Common fish species include the largemouth bass and blue gill.

Green River State Park is a famous starting point for many river-rafting adventures, offering the chance to explore more than 120 miles. Also, the park sits near attractions like Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park.

Palisade State Park is the ideal place for electric or non-motorized boating activities, swimming, and fishing. Common fish in the area are trout and goldfish. If you want to hike, you could follow the trails around the lake or go deeper into the hillside. Also, the park is close to the Arapeen OHW Trail.

Another adventurous trip is driving along the Dinosaur Prehistoric Highway that starts and ends in Vernal. The route is 512 miles and could take three days to complete. During the trip, you will witness fossils and footprints buried in desert cliffs and rocky outcroppings.
