Motorhome, Camper and RV Rentals Fullerton, CA

Fullerton, California

When you plan to visit Southern California, you might not think to add Fullerton to your list of must-see cities. That’s understandable, but hold on. You might find some good reasons to stop in this Orange County city located just west of Los Angeles. Did you know that Fullerton has a thriving music scene, with musicians of all genres performing regularly. The Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster guitars were developed in Fullerton, there’s a minor league baseball team in town, and it’s also the place where Hawaiian Punch was invented. Throw in amazing outdoor spaces and a long history of growing some of the best citrus in the world, and you may want to rethink your travel plans. Here are some places to visit in an RV rental Fullerton CA!

Popular Tourist Attractions

Fullerton Arboretum

Part of California State University, this 26 acre botanical garden has over 4000 plants and serves as an environmental education center. Regular special events and programs make learning about botany fun and accessible. There are rotating exhibits, a greenhouse, community gardens, and lots of nature trails for walking around and taking it all in. It’s open every day from 8:00am to 4:30pm, and there is a suggested donation of five dollars per visitor.

The Muckenthaler Cultural Center

“The Muck” may sound like an ATV trail or a cranberry bog, but in Fullerton, it’s an amazing estate and museum that seeks to inspire creativity in all its visitors. There are regularly rotating exhibits of art and the creativity in business and industry, and educational programs take place often. The structure itself is a 1921 Spanish Colonial Revival home and garden, and it’s beautiful enough to turn anyone into an architecture appreciator.

Laguna Lake Park

There may be no beaches in Fullerton, but who needs beaches when you’ve got a great outdoor spot like Laguna Lake Park? Run by the city, this 28-acre site offers everything you could want for a day in the sunshine. The lake is ideal for fishing, and visitors have been known to reel in rainbow trout, bass, catfish, and bluegill. Trails for walking, jogging, and biking are all over, and there’s a picnic area too. Horse lovers will enjoy the equestrian center, where the local club rides.

Campgrounds and State/National Parks

Orangeland RV Park

Just south east of Fullerton in Orange (that’s the city of Orange) is Orangeland RV Park. This campground features almost 200 paved sites with full hookups, restrooms, a huge laundry facility, and more. Amenities include a heating swimming pool and hot tub, mini golf, a playground, a pool table, and on-site store, and many others to make your stay enjoyable.

Anaheim Resort RV Park

If you don’t mind fighting any Disneyland traffic, this RV park is close to all sorts of regional fun and activities. There are loads of spots, full hookups, and all the amenities you’d want, including a pool, clubhouse, free wifi, and a free shuttle to Disneyland if you’re going that way. Anaheim Resort RV Park is perfect for an RV rental near Fullerton CA!

Chino Hills State Park Rolling M Campground

Head east of town a little bit and spend the night in this beautifully wooded state park. There are some restrictions on RV length, and hookups are limited, but if you are looking to get away from it all and enjoy the quiet of nature, Chino Hills is a perfect spot. Pay attention to closings during the rainy season.

Events

Downtown Fullerton Art Walk

The first Friday of every month is when you’ll find downtown Fullerton’s galleries and businesses open to the public. There’s lots of great art, a great community spirit, and all sorts of free activities. Many stops offer free refreshments too. It’s a great way to kick off the weekend and start the evening right. Make it a prelude to dinner or a night out on the town, or make it a destination all on its own.

Railroad Days

Early May is when the Southern California Railway Plaza Association puts on its annual Railroad Days in Fullerton’s train station. Check out model train displays, learn about the history of locomotion, and enjoy this fun and free event.
