Senator Wash South Shore

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is responsible for 1 in every 10 acres of land in the U.S.

Senator Wash South Shore is a 50-acre site with two gravel beaches along Senator Wash Reservoir. The reservoir captures water from the Colorado River, which is released when water levels get low. During the release, workers generate power at Imperial Dam. The beaches at this site, about 25 miles north of Yuma, Arizona, can be used to launch hand-carried watercraft. Senator Wash South Shore is about 155 miles from Joshua Tree National Park

You can boondock at Senator Wash South Shore, and there are other nearby Bureau of Land Management campgrounds available. These facilities are great places to camp for up to seven months while paying minimal or no fee. When you are exploring Arizona, California and other Western states, be sure to look for "BLM camping near me". These sites are often secluded with very few services, but they are typically in immensely beautiful areas.
