Dubuque Iowa Class A RV Rental Reviews

image description

Overall experience did not meet expectations. The listing posted this motor home as excellent condition, and we found it far from this condition. A few of the noted issues to the overall condition of the unit were various cosmetic damages to the exterior of the coach, both windshields were cracked, a few of the exterior storage door had trouble latching closed, a hub cap came lose during transit, and there was damage to a sidewall on a rear tire. The inside of the motor home was found mostly clean other than the bathroom which had debris built up pasted inside the toilet bowl. We found a few of the storage doors were broken, and a few other miscellaneous concerns not quite in order. The black water tank from the previous trip was still full so we had to dump it at our first stop. The cables to hook the DVD player to the TV were missing as was the water supply hose for the RV. All of these issues were seemingly small for the scope of our trip. The two things that made the experience not as enjoyable as it should have been were the fact the unit was out of propane which meant all kitchen became obsolete as well as any hot water. The campgrounds and RV parks I stayed at were unable to fill the tanks saying this was a special type of tank and they only filled the detachable bottles. The other issue was that if we connected the water supply hose or pressurized the tanks, there was a quick water leak coming from the base of the toilet so water would flood the floor and soak into the carpets. Those two issues made for a poor experience overall. The fuel economy was to be expected with a V10 gas engine, and the unit drove quite well. I did find while driving the air conditioning does not maintain good temperature and would seem to come and go with the cold air.

The RV drove and rode very nicely. The automatic leveling feature is really nice. The refrigerator is huge. We had everything we needed to cook. The owners could not have been nicer to deal with.

We rented the this RV for a February trip to Texas and there was nothing about the experience that didn't go as expected. Zeb was great to work with, the RV was ready to go when I went to pick it up, and the equipment worked flawlessly. It's a 15 hour trip so having the RV was much better than sleeping in the back seat of a pickup truck with your forehead on the seat in front of you. This trip was in February so we had to make a few cold weather accommodations for the Iowa part of the trip and when we got to TX they were in the middle of a cold snap, but the generator and the RV furnace kept everyone comfortable. I have some hiking trips to CO planned for the summer so we will likely be making another reservation.
