Paris Mountain is located right in the city of Greenville, SC. It was once a rural retreat for vacationers, but is now an easy trip for those in the city who want a little peace and to decompress for a bit, surrounded by nature.
Weather in the park doesn’t get too hot in summer, with the average high in July topping out at 89 F. In winter, January’s average low drops to 33 F. The park gets between 5-9 days of rain each month, and July is usually the rainiest month of the year.

What to Do at
Paris Mountain State Park
Inside Paris Mountain State Park
There are a number of things to do at Paris Mountain State Park throughout the year.
Fishing: Visitors to the park can fish 8-acre Lake Placid for bass, bream, and catfish. Reservoir #3 is a 15-acre lake that can be accessed via a two mile hike, and it’s stocked with bass, bream, and catfish as well.
Canoe, kayak, and pedal boat rentals: Canoe and kayak rentals are available each weekend during spring and fall.
Playground: There is a playground at the park for kids.
Swimming: Swimming is permitted in the swimming area.
Bird watching: Birders can see a variety of fowl including hawks, woodpeckers, and owls in the evening.
Geocaching: There are several geocaches in the park for families to try and find.
Hiking: There are 15 miles of hiking trails in the park of varying levels of difficulty.
Biking: Biking is allowed on the 15 miles of trails every day except Saturdays.

Greenville Zoo
The Greenville Zoo is a small zoo within Cleveland Park. The compact zoo houses a collection of mammals, reptiles & amphibians. Visit the zoo and then spend some time exploring Cleveland Park as well.

The Children’s Museum of the Upstate is a place where children can explore, discover, imagine, and pretend. Shop at the grocery store, blast off in the space area, or head to the Teddy Bear Clinic for some stuffed animal healthcare.

Falls Park on the Reedy
This 32-acre park in downtown Greenville is in the West End district, and is considered the birthplace of Greenville. The park was formed when the Carolina Foothills Garden Club reclaimed 26 acres of land that was previously used by textile mills. Sit by the falls awhile and enjoy the sounds!

How to Get to
Paris Mountain State Park
Head northeast on N. Church St. toward E. Elford St, then turn right onto Wade Hampton Blvd. Turn left onto N. Pleasantburg Dr., then right onto Piney Mountain Rd. Make a right on SC-253, then a left onto State Park Rd. Veer slightly left onto Paris Mountain State Park.

There is an entrance fee of $5 for adults, $3.25 for seniors, and $3 for children 6-15. Children 5 and under are free.
