This Oregon park is legendary for trout fishing, and when winter arrives, visitors bundle up for some outstanding cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing in the Deschutes National Forest. LaPine State Park is located about 11 miles north of LaPine, six miles south of Three Rivers, 22 miles north of Crescent, and 27 miles south of Bend.

What to Do at
LaPine State Park

Inside LaPine State Park

If you're a hiker or mountain biker, you'll love the 16 miles of trails at this state park. Bring along your flyfishing equipment to try your luck in the Deschutes River. You'll also want to bring your tube so that you can float the river. See the largest Ponderosa pine tree in Oregon that experts estimate to be 500 years old. Wildlife is abundant at this state park, where you can frequently spot eagles and red-tailed hawks.

Outside LaPine State Park

LaPine State Park is located near many attractions, like Newberry Crater and Lava River Cave, that bring thousands of tourists to the area each year. A short drive up the road is Crater Lake. While nature abounds throughout the area, there are also wonderful places to eat and shop.

How to Get to
LaPine State Park

LaPine State Park is located about 14 minutes from La Pine, Oregon. To get to the park, start by getting on US-97 N and going to State Recreation Road. Turn left, and you'll reach the park in about four miles. 

Entering LaPine State Park

The park is open year-round for camping. Day use is available from May 1 to Sept. 30.
