In 1810, the land that would eventually become Yorba Linda was included when José Antonio Yorba was granted around 63,000 acres of land by the Spanish crown. In 1907, a section of that land was sold by the Yorba family to a businessman named Jacob Stern, who used it for sheep grazing and barley fields. Eventually, Stern sold the land to the Janss Investment Company, which named the area Yorba Linda. In 1910, the first of many lemon and orange groves were planted in the area, and a year later, the town's first school was built. Yorba Linda would continue to grow over the next several decades, and it was officially incorporated on November 2, 1967.

Currently, Yorba Linda is home to about 69,000 people and is perhaps most known for being the birthplace of Richard Nixon. The former U.S. president's birthplace is a National Historic Landmark, and his presidential library and museum are also located in the city. Those locations are definitely worth seeing if you visit Yorba Linda.
