Fillmore is a small town in Ventura County, California. This town was founded in 1887 by Jerome A. Fillmore, a general superintendent of the Southern Pacific Railroad. Fillmore was incorporated in 1914 after the community business owners and Fillmore Herald voted in favor of the city's incorporation. In 1994, the Northridge earthquake hit the city, leaving Fillmore with damages. After a few years of reconstruction, the city began to thrive again, and a large area of its downtown was restored.

Fillmore is known for its agriculture, mainly its citrus plantations. The farmers in Fillmore started specializing in citrus farming in 1889 when they set out the first orange grove. Later, in 1897, they formed the Fillmore Citrus Fruit Association. The town has also ventured into avocado, lemon, and tree farming to boost its agricultural profile.
