Leo Carrillo State Park is located on the Pacific coast in Los Angeles County in an area removed from cities and services. The closest cities are Malibu, which is southeast of the park, Thousand Oaks to the north, and Oxnard to the northeast. Leo Carrillo State Park is part of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and is made up of 1.5 miles of beachfront.

Leo Carrillo State Park
Inside Leo Carrillo State Park
Leo Carrillo is a great spot for all manner of water activities, including swimming, surfing, and windsurfing. You can also do some surf fishing and snorkeling. There's plenty of wildlife and natural scenery viewing opportunities at Leo Carrillo and plenty of hiking fun to be had. During the summer, you can participate in the campfire programs, and younger campers can join the junior ranger program.
Outside Leo Carrillo State Park
The entire area in which Leo Carrillo is situated is fascinating. After spending some time at the park, branch out and check out some of the other attractions in the area. Also, grab some delicious food while you're at it.

Neptune's Net is a seafood restaurant as well as a landmark. It was started back in the 1950s by NASA astronaut Eastman Jacobs, and it has been whipping up some of the best beachside food and beer around ever since. It's located 1.4 miles from Leo Carrillo State Park.
