Brownsburg, Indiana is located in Hendricks County and has a population of approximately 34,000. Brownsburg was founded in 1821 and was originally named Brownstown. The name was changed to Brownsburg when the railroad came through town. Today, the city is known for its many parks and recreation areas, including Arbuckle Acres Park. Arbuckle Acres Park is the oldest park in Brownsburg. The original 38-acre tract was purchased in 1958 from Mattie Tolle who had inherited the property from her father, Alex H. Arbuckle. At Mrs. Tolle's request, the park was named in honor of her father.
