Biscayne National Park  

If you love scuba diving and snorkeling, make sure a stop at Biscayne National Park is on your road trip itinerary from Atlanta to Miami. Visiting this park, which is divided into three parts, requires you to go a little farther at the end of your route, but it is so worth the effort. Consider starting your visit at Boca Chita Key, where you can climb to the observation deck on the lighthouse and see a long way out to sea. Elliott Key is a great place to go fishing from the pier or the shoreline. Bring a picnic lunch and eat it on Adams Key. Stop at the Dante Fascell Visitor Center Gallery to see contemporary artwork. Guided snorkeling and sailing adventures are also easy to set up. 

Everglades National Park  

The Shark Valley entrance to Everglades National Park is the closest to Miami, and it offers the quintessential Everglades vacation. About 50 miles to the south, in Homestead, is the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center. You can find many activities to do at this center, including watching a film that allows you to understand more about the park. Then, head to the Anhinga Trail at Royal Palm, which is the best place in the park to see alligators along the 0.8-mile boardwalk. As you drive along the main road, there are several other pit stops that you will want to make, including at the Pinelands Trail to see a Florida pine forest, the Pahayokee Overlook to see the animals that live in this bald cypress area, and the Mahogany Hammock Trail to see the birds and animals that live in these islands. As you continue down the road 38 miles to Flamingo, you will want to stop and see the birds that gather around West Lake, Mrazek, and Eco ponds. Once you arrive in Flamingo, you are also likely to see crocodiles.

After you leave on your Atlanta to Miami RV road trip, one place that you will want to stop is General Coffee State Park, near Nichols, Georgia. Stroll along the boardwalk to see the plants and animals living in the cypress swamp. Over 13 miles of equestrian trails are available for riding. 

Stephen C. Foster State Park  

Stephen C. Foster State Park near Fargo, Georgia, lies adjacent to the Okefenokee Swamp. You will want to bring your camera to capture photos of the Spanish moss-covered trees and the cypress knees rising above the swamp’s surface. The swamp is home to various wildlife, including alligators, turtles, black bears, and deer. A great way to explore this area is on one of the guided boat tours. This state park is located inside Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, and it is estimated that 12,000 alligators live within the refuge. 

Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park  

Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park is located on the Suwanee River near White Springs, Florida. This park pays tribute to folk singer Stephen Foster who made the river famous in his music. You can listen to hourly concerts from the bell tower when you visit this park. Ride a bike along the 8-mile looped trail to explore this park’s beautiful scenery. Launch a canoe onto the river to enjoy some paddling fun. You may want to bring along your fishing rods to catch largemouth bass. This park’s high-river bluffs are a great place to go hiking. The large amphitheater is home to the annual Florida Folk Festival that draws thousands to this park. 

Amelia Island State Park  

If you have always dreamed of riding horses on a beach, do not skip visiting Amelia Island State Park near Jacksonville, Florida. This park, which is one of the seven parks making up the Talbot Islands State Park system, is a great place to go shore fishing in the ocean. Dudley Farm Historic State Park
