Aspenglen Campground is situated on the eastern side of Rocky Mountain National Park, conveniently located near the Fall River Entrance to the park. With 51 campsites available exclusively through reservations during the summer season, the campground transitions to a first-come, first-served basis in the winter. The area is frequented by diverse wildlife, including bears, deer, elk, raccoons, and skunks. Stringent measures are in place, requiring the secure storage of all food, pet food, cooking utensils, and other scented items either in vehicles or the designated food storage lockers within the campground. There is no dedicated dump station, necessitating RV sewage and wastewater tank disposal at the dump station located in Moraine Park Campground. The maximum allowable length for RVs and trailers is 30 feet. Aspenglen Campground boasts a delightful blend of Douglas fir, Lodgepole pine, Ponderosa pine, and occasional Engelmann spruce, creating a diverse forest landscape that offers an equal mix of sunlit and shaded areas. Open meadows are adorned with grasses, shrubs, and seasonal wildflowers, providing a picturesque setting.
The park's rich wildlife population adds to the campground's allure, with mule deer and majestic Rocky Mountain elk being the most commonly sighted species. Beyond these, the region is home to black bears, coyotes, bighorn sheep, and moose, offering visitors a chance to witness the diverse fauna thriving in this natural haven.
