Motorcycle rallies and races are also a wonderful opportunity for RV camping! An RV or camper lets you stay close to the action (and assures you of a hot shower afterward). There are also toy hauler trailers suitable for carrying dirt bikes and motorcycles, in case you’re competing in events instead of watching them.

Baseball spring training may be over for 2024, but these games are awesome sporting events in 2024 where you can RV, and you’ll want to add them to your calendar for February or March of next year. Escape the cold weather and watch Cactus League games in Arizona or Grapefruit League games in Florida.
You can follow your favorite team throughout the baseball season and find top campgrounds in your team’s city where you can set up camp.
The first game of the World Series is scheduled for October 1, and the last potential day for a World Series game (Game 7) is on November 2.
You may also be interested in the All-Star Game, which will be July 16 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. There are lots of nearby campgrounds where you can stay so you’re close to the action on Game Day!
Football
The crisp air, the chillier weather, and the roar of the football crowd – there’s nothing like a fall RV trip for some tailgating and an exciting football game! In fact, many of us take tailgating seriously enough that we set up hours before the game, or even several days before, in order to pregame for a while. Visit your alma mater to cheer on the team, or head to one of the top colleges for football tailgating.
You can also tailgate at NFL games, setting up in the parking lot hours before the game. Tailgating is generally not allowed at the Super Bowl, however.
For both college and pro games, there is often a designated tailgating area. Be sure to purchase parking tickets for the tailgating lot and check any rules on when and where you can set up.
Rodeos
Watching a rodeo is an exciting way to spend an afternoon or evening! Most rodeos involve many rounds, and you may see barrel racing, roping, steer wrestling, and bull riding. There are women’s and men’s events, and even children’s events like mutton busting, where kids square up against sheep. Rodeos can often happen during larger events and can also include live music from popular country bands. The National Western Stock Show & Rodeo in Denver is a three-week event that happens each January, and the Fort Worth Stock Show in Texas goes from late January until early February. Cheyenne Frontier Days is from July 19 – July 28 in Wyoming. You can’t camp on-site at Frontier Days, but there are many nearby Wyoming campgrounds where you can stay.

You can’t camp right at the tournament, but there are lots of campgrounds in Augusta where you can stay and be close to the action. The tournament goes from April 11-14.
The PGA Championship is another excellent option for golf lovers. In fact, it’s in Louisville, at Valhalla Golf Club, about a week and a half after the Kentucky Derby from May 16-19. You can find lots of options for campgrounds in Louisville where you can stay to enjoy both events.
If you’re looking for a fun golf tournament with less-high stakes, the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament takes place at beautiful Lake Tahoe from July 10-14. The Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course will host NFL and NBA players, actors, and other celebrities for four days of golf on the shores of the lake. And, of course, there is plenty of boating, hiking, swimming, gambling, and other recreation at Tahoe along with plenty of Lake Tahoe campgrounds, making this one of the best sporting events in 2024 where you can RV.

The Winter Games are traditionally in Aspen in January, while this year’s Summer X Games are again in Ventura, California, from June 27 to June 30. Watch twenty-six competitions, including skateboarding, BMX, and motocross races. The Games also feature concerts and other events. You can find lots of campgrounds in Ventura, and you may want to extend your stay to enjoy the beaches here and in nearby Santa Barbara.
Marathons and Running Races
RVing at a marathon or other race is an excellent idea! Races have notoriously early start times, and if you’re running in one yourself, staying nearby can help you get some much-needed sleep the night before. You’ll also be close to a refreshing shower after you cross the finish line.
