Alder Glen Recreation Site

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is responsible for 1 in every 10 acres of land in the U.S.

Alder Glen Recreation Site is a small, primitive campground located along the Nestucca Wild and Scenic River. Most of the campsites found at this location each have their own private river access, making it a popular destination for fishing and swimming. The campground is also surrounded by alder and maple trees, making it a good backdrop for photographers and wildlife viewers or bird-watchers. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) keeps the Alder Glen Recreation Site open for the public to use during the camping season, which runs from May to September. Tasked with managing public lands, the BLM is a government agency which preserves and maintains these spaces for public recreational use and for future generations to enjoy. The campground at Alder Glen Recreation Site charges a fee of $15 a night per campsite with an additional $5 fee for extra vehicles. Amenities include two vault restrooms, potable water, picnic tables, fire rings, and a paved parking area. There are no dumpsters provided at this campground though, so campers are required to bring their own trash bags and to pack out their own trash upon leaving.
