Robledo Mountains Wilderness Area

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is responsible for 1 in every 10 acres of land in the U.S.

If you're looking for a scenic and remote site that's also easily accessible from major New Mexico cities, then Robledo Mountains Wilderness Area has just what you're looking for. Not only will you be able to experience world-class hiking, fishing, camping, and other outdoor activities in some of the nation's most scenic terrain, but the area features a unique mixture of forests and barren deserts that's hard to find elsewhere. Furthermore, you'll be able to find RV parking at the site's Bureau of Land Management campgrounds.

Summers tend to be hot, but the heat's uniquely "dry" quality can make the high desert temperatures surprisingly tolerable. Also, some of the park's higher elevations offer surprisingly cool summer conditions, and some of the highest terrain actually receives significant winter snowfall. As with many other BLM sites in the state, the park features a wide range of biomes that are perfect for RV or tent camping.
