Fort Boonesborough State Park

Inside Fort Boonesborough State Park

Daniel Boone and his men discovered this site in 1775, and soon after, soldiers built a fort here on the Kentucky River. You can explore the reconstructed fort and see how people lived during pioneer times. If you want to get out on the water, launch a canoe or kayak to enjoy amazing views. Borrow a fishing pole from the park’s headquarters to go fishing. The swimming pool and sandy beach are a great place to unwind after a full day of activities. 

Outside Fort Boonesborough State Park

This park is conveniently located just a few miles from Interstate 75, so it is easy to explore the region. Richmond offers several great places to go shopping and dine, or you can head to Lexington and explore everything it has to offer. Fort Boonesborough State Park

If you are driving on Interstate 75, take exit 90 and get on US 25/US 421. Turn right on US Business 25 South. Turn left on North 2nd Street. Go straight to get on Kentucky 388 and continue until you reach the park.
