This beautiful state park is a place where everyone can spend many hours communing with nature while enjoying comfortable amenities. The park is 850 acres and features a campground, hiking trails, sports courts, a camp store, a 300-seat amphitheater with weekly movie showings, and a multipurpose building that seats 240. Kincaid Lake State Park is located midway between the large urban cities of Cincinnati, OH, to the north and Lexington, KY, to the south. The lake is 183 acres and allows 10-horsepower motorized boats and paddleboats, and everyone will appreciate the fishing. Golfing enthusiasts will love having a nine-hole golf course conveniently inside the park.

Three Springs Campground

This unique park is dedicated to the world of horses. What to Do at
Kincaid Lake State Park
Inside Kincaid Lake State Park
You can swim and boat in the 183-acre lake, and you can catch largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, sunfish, and crappie. There is a marina where you can rent various boats and equipment and buy bait and tackle. There are two nature trails for hiking, a basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court, and an authentic log cabin from the 1860s. You can try your skills at miniature golf, and the pool is a great place to jump in and become cool and refreshed (pool use is fee-based).
Outside Kincaid Lake State Park
Whenever you are ready to leave the park and venture outside, you will be able to find lots of things to see and do in the cities of Lexington, Cincinnati, and other towns. You can also enjoy local shopping and dining in the town of Falmouth, which is just a few miles from the park.

You can get great barbecue at the Smoking Pig Tavern, among other options. Fan favorites include fried pickles, pulled chicken sandwiches, fried green tomatoes, fried green beans, and a baked potato with smoked pork or chicken. The restaurant features vintage décor and offers souvenirs for sale.

Ashland-Henry Clay Estate
The Ashland-Henry Clay Estate is a historic plantation that was owned by the Henry Clay family. It was first built in the early 1800s and then completely rebuilt in the middle of the 1800s. It features a dual-winged Italianate architecture in the Greek Revivalist style. Both the buildings and the grounds are open for public tours.

Smithsonian International Museum of the Horse
You can find the Smithsonian International Museum of the Horse inside the Kentucky Horse Park. The museum showcases information on horse care, the history of horses in society through the ages, and many other aspects of equine knowledge. You can visit the grave of the famous racehorse, Man o' War, and attend current horse shows that have horses from around the world.

Mary Todd Lincoln House
The Mary Todd Lincoln House is a Georgian house that was built in the early 1800s. Initially a tavern, the building was later turned into a residence. It then became the home of Mary Todd, who lived there before she became the wife of Abraham Lincoln. It is now a historical site, and visitors are able to see period furnishings and photographs in the house. There are also several picturesque gardens on the grounds.

Aviation Museum of Kentucky
You can see everything from F-4 Phantoms to Bell Cobra helicopters inside the 20,000-acre Aviation Museum of Kentucky. You can also visit the Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame while in the museum. The museum is home to both permanent and temporary exhibits that feature photographs and artifacts.

Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is the second-oldest zoo in the U.S. It is most known for its work with endangered species like the black rhino, and it takes part in breeding programs with species like the Indian and Sumatran rhinos. Visitors can see many different species of animals, including arctic foxes, African lions, Amazon milk frogs, Indian peacocks, and more.

Kincaid Lake State Park
From the south, take Russell Cave Rd and U.S. 27 to Kincaid Lake State Park Rd. From the north, take U.S. 27 S to State Hwy 177 E S in Butler. Continue on State Hwy 177 E S and take State Hwy 609 to Kincaid Lake State Park Rd.
Entering Kincaid Lake State Park
The park grounds are open all year, and the campground is open from April 1 - November 12. The boat slips and marina are open April 29 - September 30.
