Ozark National Scenic Riverways was the first national park constructed to protect a river system in the United States. The Current River and Jacks Fork River flow through the park. You can go canoeing, fishing, and swimming. Other geographic features of the park include freshwater springs and caves. The Slough Trail takes you to the Big Spring with interpretive exhibits along the way. Horseback riding is allowed along some trails in Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Popular routes for horse riders are the Jerktail Loop Trail for several scenic overlooks and the Broadfoot Loop Trail for a chance at spotting wild horses. George Rogers Clark National Historical Park was the site of an important American victory against the British during the Revolutionary War. A bronze statue commemorates American Colonel George Rogers Clark. Seven murals at the memorial depict his life as well.
