You haven’t been to Aurora if you have not visited the Paramount Theater. The theater was opened in 1931 and was the premier event place to watch a movie, and enjoy the vaudeville, concerts, circus performances, sing-a-longs, and other live performances. After 40 years, the theater was in such disrepair that it was closed down. By the late 1970s restoration of the theater began, and the theater was restored back to its former grandeur. Today, the theater is not only where you can enjoy world-class performances but is also a tourist destination as well. In fact, it was named by the League of Chicago Theatres as one of the Top Ten Theatres in Chicago.
