Under the Big Sky is a three-day music festival that typically takes place in July. It's held at Big Mountain Ranch and is known as the 'most Montana festival ever.' ON-SITE AMENITIES
Under the Big Sky Fest is committed to ensuring an accessible and comfortable experience for all attendees. Several ADA entrances and viewing locations are available throughout the ranch, and ADA parking is provided in the VIP parking area for added convenience. To stay hydrated, festival-goers can take advantage of a free water refill station centrally located within the festival grounds or purchase bottled water at any bar or beverage kiosk. First aid stations will be clearly marked on the ranch and on your festival map for easy access. Additionally, a lost and found is located next to the Merchandise Barn. Where to Camp Near the Under the Big Sky Fest
The closest spot is located a mere mile away from Big Mountain Ranch. Known as Bryan's Field Festival Glamping, this is the premiere location for those who want to reach the Under the Big Sky fast. Please note the limited space, which accommodates up to a 20-foot by 20-foot RV. No pets and no hookups are offered, but they provide a free breakfast and a shuttle to the concert. If you're traveling with a pet, find pet-friendly RV rentals instead. Another option is Whitefish RV Park. Located inside the city limits, this RV park features 51 full hookup sites. They're open all year, too, and are the only full-service RV Park in the immediate area. Water, electricity, and sewage are available on site, along with free Wi-Fi. Whitefish RV Park is also less than 5 miles from the festival. For those who want a more traditional RVing experience, you can rent a 90-foot spot at the Whitefish KOA Campground. Class A RVs are welcome here. Aside from participating in RV culture, guests can also take a dip in the pool, play volleyball and mini golf, and use free Wi-Fi. This campground is a nice place to stay for longer than three days, too. It's located approximately 8 miles from Under the Big Sky Fest.
RV Rental Tips for Under the Big Sky
Whitefish, MT, fully embraces RV culture. The area will be quite busy during the festival, though, so be sure to book your RV rental spot as soon as possible. RVs make it easier for festival-goers, but there are a few things first-timers should know: • Your campground should be selected based on the size of your RV or RV rental. Bryan's Field Festival Glamping is closest, but it can't accommodate large RVs. • Always bring extra water, even if the campsite offers water hookups. • Be sure to fully understand how to set up and take down an RV campsite. WHERE TO STAY
If you’d like, you can stay at a nearby hotel or bed and breakfast instead of a campground for Under the Big Sky Fest. • The Apres Whitefish Hotel is only a few miles from the festival’s ranch, and it’s just a few minutes away from Glacier National Park, too. This modern hotel offers an espresso bar, a lounge with views, and rooms with contemporary artwork. • The Duck Inn Lodge is a bed and breakfast with free parking, free Wi-Fi, and free breakfast for all guests. It also has air conditioning and is just three miles from the festival. • Farmhouse Inn & Kitchen is another B&B that is right off Route 93, which is a mere three miles from the festival. HOW TO GET THERE
• From downtown Whitefish: Head east on 2nd St. Turn right at the second cross street onto Columbia Ave, and then turn left onto 10th St. Turn right onto Park Ave, and then left onto Voerman Rd. • From Columbia Falls: Head west on Hwy 2, continuing straight onto MT-40 W. Turn right onto Dillon Rd, where it will eventually turn left and become Voerman Rd. • From Glacier Park International Airport: Turn left (North) onto US-2 E. Then, turn left onto MT-40 W and turn right onto Dillon Rd. Dillon Rd will turn left and become Voerman Rd. • From Kalispell: From Hwy 93, head north and make a right onto Hwy 40. If coming from Hwy 2, head north and make a left onto Hwy 40. Turn north onto Dillon Rd, and it will turn left and become Voerman Rd. • From Bigfork: Head north on MT-35 W, and then turn right onto Montana Hwy 206. Turn left onto US-2, continuing straight onto MT-40 W. Turn right onto Dillon Rd, which will turn left and become Voerman Rd.
