The Electric Daisy Carnival is a three-day celebration of music, life, art, and love. Held at the Las Vegas Speedway each May, the EDC is a feast for the senses. There are bright neon lights and dazzling fireworks displays to see, pulsating electronic dance music to listen to, and delicious food to eat. When attendees aren’t dancing to the hottest techno, dubstep, house and trance music, they can take thrilling carnival rides or visit lavish art installations. Laser light shows and huge 3D displays dominate the venue, and many of the art exhibits are interactive. If you love electronic dance music and can only take one RV road trip this year, EDC could be the perfect destination.
EDC is one of the country’s largest and most popular music festivals, and attendees can do a lot more than listen to their favorite sounds. There are more than a dozen carnival rides to enjoy, and there are amazing art exhibits to visit. Some of these art exhibits are 3D superstructures that glow in the dark, while others enthrall visitors with dazzling laser light shows.
EDC attendees may enjoy the art and the rides, but they come for the music. That music is played on 10 large sound stages, and it lasts until the early morning hours. If you feel like taking a break from the music, Downtown EDC is the place to head to. You could visit a theme bar that offers great food and live entertainment, or you could become part of the show at a Tokyo-style karaoke bar. There are even chapels in Downtown EDC where couples can exchange vows and tie the knot.
Events as large as EDC are exceptionally well organized. ATMs can be found in Downtown EDC and near all of the sound stages, and safety and medical teams are placed in key locations to provide assistance if needed. There are several information booths and a large lost and found office, and there are numerous battery charging and water refill stations. If you buy more swag than you can carry around and don’t fancy walking back to your RV, you can rent a locker.
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway 7000 N. Las Vegas Boulevard Las Vegas, NV 89115
The part of Las Vegas Boulevard that winds its way through the heart of Sin City is called the Strip, but the EDC venue is far from the bright neon of midtown. The Las Vegas Speedway is located northeast of the city and about a 20-minute drive from the Strip.
Hundreds of electronic dance music’s biggest stars will be performing at EDC. They include the renowned French D.J. David Guetta and the British techno and club D.J. Eric Prydz. You can learn more about all of the artists who will be performing on the event’s lineup page.
People from every part of the country flock to Las Vegas each May to attend EDC, and many of them arrive by RV. The RVing area at the event is called Camp EDC, and it’s huge. There is an entertainment hub at the center of Camp EDC called the Mesa. This is where RVers and campers can hang out and relax in three massive shaded structures or swim in four large pools. There is also an enormous shaded bar that features a live DJ, and the pools are cleaned and filtered every hour.
It will cost you $898.99 including fees to park your RV in camp EDC for the duration of the festival, but that will be a lot less than most hotel rooms in Las Vegas. You’ll also be right next to the event venue and its 10 sound stages. Camp EDC has an event entrance, and you can come and go as often as you like. If you feel like some home cooking or want to take a rest after a few hours of partying, just head back to your RV. You can’t light a campfire at Camp EDC, but you can use a small propane grill or stove.
You will receive a decal when you purchase an RV pass, which should be displayed on the driver’s side of your windshield. When you arrive at Camp EDC, your RV will be inspected to make sure that it meets the site’s requirements. RVs cannot be more than 45 feet long, and they must have an air conditioner powered by a built-in generator.
If you will not be driving an RV to EDC, you will have plenty of lodging options. There are two campgrounds at Camp EDC that offer ShiftPod tents with air conditioners and artificial grass floors. Camping package prices start at $2,198.99 including fees. You will have access to the Mesa if you stay in a ShiftPod, so that could make the deal worthwhile. If you would prefer to stay in a brick-and-mortar hotel, EDC has worked out a hospitality deal with Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Rooms and suites with king beds or two queen beds are available, and the package includes specialty food and cocktails, limited-edition merchandise, wellness sessions, and daily happy hours.
If you stay at Camp EDC, you can walk to the event venue from your RV. If you stay in one of the Las Vegas hotels, you can take a shuttle bus to and from EDC. Outbound shuttle buses run from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and return trips start at 2:00 a.m. and continue until 45 minutes after the music ends. Shuttle buses run continuously so there is no schedule, and you can catch one at four locations on the Las Vegas Strip.
You can pay $199 including fees for a standard shuttle pass, or you can upgrade to a Premier shuttle pass. A Premier pass will allow you to reserve a seat and go through a security pre-screen to save time at the venue entrance. Premier shuttle packages start at $319.
If you want to drive to the venue from the Las Vegas Strip, you will take Interstate 15 North to exit 54. This is the Speedway Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard exit. Stay to the right when you exit the highway so you can merge onto Speedway Boulevard. You will see the venue about 1,000 feet ahead.
General parking is free at EDC. The large Brown and Green lots are closest to the action, and you can access them from Las Vegas Boulevard. The lots open at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and vehicles must leave each day. Any vehicles that remain after the festival closes will be towed. Tailgating is not permitted in the parking lots.
If you want to spend less time waiting to get in and out of a parking lot, you can purchase a Premier Parking pass. Prices have not been announced for the 2025 event, but these passes usually cost about $150. You will park in the Yellow parking lot if you purchase a Premier Parking pass, which you can reach by taking exit 58 off Interstate 15. Turn right on N. Las Vegas Boulevard when you get off the highway, and then look for Yellow parking lot signs.
General admission Experience passes for EDC have already sold out, but Experience Plus passes are still available. An Experience Plus pass costs $698.99 including fees, and it will get you in and out of the event more quickly and give you access to premium restroom trailers.
