The park is 15 miles west of San Rafael and provides an amazing outdoor experience. It has many hiking trails, where during the season you can watch salmon spawn or kike to the top of Barnabe Peak and get one if the best viewpoints in Marin County. It has shady strolls and trails for serious hikers.
This park is run by the California Parks and Recreation Department. It is clean and convenient to San Francisco. It has great hiking trails through the mighty redwoods. It has one dog-friendly trail that follows the old North Pacific Coast Railroad into the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
