Located just 10 miles south of Livermore, CA, Del Valle Family Campground is like a resort on the shores of a 5-mile-long lake. The park is surrounded by oak woodlands, and the lake is suitable for swimming, windsurfing, and boating. Visitors must make reservations at least 12 weeks in advance of their arrival date.
The lake has two swimming beaches with lifeguards. The park is suitable for horseback riding and fishing, and patio boats, canoes, motorboats and pedal boats can be rented there. There are miles of hiking, biking and walking trails. The lake is regularly stocked with catfish and trout as well as with large- and small-mouth bass, striped bass, and panfish. The park hosts evening campfires with songs, games, and marshmallow roasting.
“I went camping for years there, and it’s been really fun. You can rent boats and much more. You could go hiking. Just remember to pick a good spot because there is a lot of sun. But overall, really good place. Plus, it has a beach on the other side.” – Gabriel, Google Review
