Wyoming’s Wind River Range is known for its stunning Cirque of the Towers climbing area. The rugged granite spires and peaks promise technical and traditional routes ranging from Class 2 walk-ups to difficult 5.11b climbs. The two classic experiences include Wolf's Head and Pingora Peak. Overuse has become a problem in recent years, making it essential for all visitors to climb and camp responsibility.

Wildlife ViewingWildlife Viewing

During the summer, you're likely to see elk, coyotes, trumpeter swans, deer, pronghorn antelope, and sandhill cranes. You should never get too close to any large mammals, such as bears or moose, that can react aggressively.

Picnicking

Feel free to plan your picnics at any of the dispersed camping sites around the Green River. You can also stop by the CCC Ponds/Pinedale Pathway to use the benches, warming hut, bathrooms, and trash services. Warren Bridge Campground has six picnic sites as well as an abundance of tables and barbeque grills.

Planning your Warren Bridge Campground BLM trip

Both black bears and grizzly bears call Wyoming home, so it's essential to always practice bear safety while BLM RV camping. Invest in a bear-safe canister as well as bear spray in case of an emergency. The weather here can be erratic and windy, jumping from freezing in the morning to warm in the afternoon. Bring along a quality wool layer to keep you insulated against any rain or cold. Rain gear is a necessity, especially if you plan on taking long hikes. You should also be aware that the U.S. Forest Service may restrict campfire use if the danger of forest fires is too high. Stay updated on local regulations by visiting their website or calling ahead. Before you head out on your trip, check out our blog for all you need to know about BLM camping.

Leave No Trace Leaf

The outdoor ethics program, "Leave No Trace", encourages hikers, campers, and explorers to practice responsible outdoor habits that protect the environment. Pack out all of your empty containers, food scraps, and toilet paper. If necessary, you can bury your human waste in an 8-inch hole at least 200 feet away from any water source. You should also strive to respect the local wildlife by never feeding wild animals and keeping your noise level down. Other principles include minimizing the impact of your campfires, leaving artifacts where you find them, and thoroughly planning for your trip.
