Mescal Mountain Trail
Mescal Mountain Trail is an out-and-back trail with an elevation of 521 feet. Although this popular hiking and biking trail is quite challenging, it compensates with panoramic views of the wilderness and surrounding mountain ranges.

Fishing, Boating, and Swimming
The Gila River, which flows through Needle's Eye Wilderness, is an incredible fishing spot. Common fish anglers catch on this river include catfish, trout, and smallmouth bass. Although there are no lifeguards, swimming is possible on the river. Guests can also enjoy a memorable boating experience.
Climbing
Needle's Eye Wilderness only has a few rock formations where climbing enthusiasts can have fun.
Wildlife Viewing
Needle's Eye Wilderness is home to many animals and birds. Wildlife varieties include bighorn sheep, elk, black bears, and deer. Carry binoculars and find your way to various birdwatch spots to see more than 200 bird species that live in or fly over this BLM site. Popular birds you will encounter are wild turkeys and eagles.
Picnicking
Picnicking is possible at Needle's Eye Wilderness. Various picnicking areas are available in the wilderness with picnic tables and fire rings. Guests can also set up picnic sites in the backcountry.
Winter Sports
This BLM free camping site is a fantastic destination for winter sports. Guests can engage in snowball fights and downhill skiing. Rental winter sports tools and equipment are available in ski resorts around the wilderness.
Canyoneering
This site has deep and long canyons worth canyoneering. You can climb various parts of the canyons to explore them.
