Fishermen's Memorial State Park is an excellent recreational site in Point Judith, a small seaside village on the coast of Narragansett, Rhode Island. The park encompasses 91 acres with neatly groomed land, tree-lined paths, and plenty of activities for the whole family. It's the perfect place to go camping with your RV, swim at the beach, fish in the state's second-largest saltwater pond, and go sightseeing at places like the Point Judith Lighthouse.

The campground at Fishermen's Memorial State Park has 147 RV sites accommodating up to 50-foot-long rigs. The 40 RV-only sites offer full hookups, including water, electricity, and sewer. Each camper must be self-contained with at least a 4-inch sewer line. The campground also has bathhouses, hot showers, picnic tables, a dump station, and Wi-Fi. It is also pet-friendly, and quiet time starts at 10 p.m. each night.

Fishing
Cast your rod in 1,777 acres of Point Judith Pond, where the ocean's saltwater combines with the pond's fresh water. Common catches are striped bass, smallmouth and largemouth bass, perch, and pickerel. You will need your fishing license to angle, and you can get one online before you arrive.
Stargazing
There's nothing like winding down in the evening with a relaxing view of the night sky. You can bring a blanket to the beach or set up a telescope at a picnic table to enjoy an evening of gazing at the heavens.
Flora and Fauna
This park is home to many species of plants and animals. Birders can look forward to adding various songbirds, raptors, and waterfowl to their journals. While hiking, you will wind through oak and pine trees and may spot deer, chipmunks, and squirrels. If you visit during late spring or early summer, you will see purple coneflowers, asters, and indigos.

The park offers acres of land to explore, including wooded areas, prairies, and shorelines. The Woodlands Trail takes you through the forest and past historical structures.

Point Judith Pond is a shallow body of water that provides a great place to launch a kayak, canoe, or other small boat. The pond is crystal clear, allowing you to see fish and other marine life.

You can swim and sunbathe at the sandy beach near the campground. You can also drive to nearby beaches, such as Scarborough State Beach, Salty Brine State Beach, and Roger Wheeler State Beach.

There are no designated bike paths at the park. However, children and adults can safely ride the park roads to exercise or get around.
How to Get to
Fishermen's Memorial State Park
Getting to Fishermen's Memorial State Park is easy, as it's less than an hour south of Providence. Take Interstate Route 95 South until you reach Route 4 South, heading toward North Kingstown. Then, follow Route 1 South to Route 108 South and Point Judith Road until you reach Fisherman's Memorial Park Road on the right.
Entering Fishermen's Memorial State Park
The park offers easy access for RVs and paved parking lots throughout. The campground has back-in and pull-through campsites that accommodate RVs up to 50 feet long. It's open for camping during peak season, which is May through September, and the non-peak season, which is September through October.
