Little Missouri State Park is a vast public recreation area located in Dunn County, North Dakota, near the western portion of the Little Missouri River. It is known for its many miles of badlands terrain, much of which is only accessible by trail. The state park’s rustic vibe, rolling hills, and beautiful waterways make it an ideal spot to appreciate North Dakota’s unique natural attractions. It was established in 1971, and it has since grown to contain an impressive total land area of about 6,000 acres. Many of those who visit Little Missouri State Park end up traveling there from Bismarck, North Dakota. Start on I-194 W in Captain's Landing. Drive from I-94 W, ND-8 N, ND-200 W, and ND-22 N to Dunn County and continue for 2.3 miles to reach your destination.
