If you love wandering under the redwood trees, then the short paths through this park are perfect. Stop at the visitors center to see taxidermic native animals. The evening campfire programs are educational and fun. In the winter, catch-and-release fishing on the Van Duzen River can be outstanding.

Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park

Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park is located at 16949 Highway 36 in Carlotta, California. Take California Highway 36E to reach this park that will be on your right in about 11.5 miles. If you are coming from Eureka or the south, then take California Highway 101 until you reach Highway 36E, which is Exit 685. Then, head west on Highway 36E for about 40 minutes.
