Loved this travel-trailer. Took it up to the Olympic Peninsula in November and was exactly what we needed. Light weight so our small SUV towed it easily. Drop-off/Pick-up was great and easy by Doug. Looking forward to using it again.
The battery was not charged upon pickup so we needed to park it for some time to get a partial charge. Think it should be fully charged upon pick up for non electrical use.
Unfortunately, our experience with this rental was not great. The communication was lacking and it was hard to get ahold of anyone and confusing whom we should be contacting, Javier or Tim? I'm unsure who the owner is but either way our experience was not good. When my husband picked up the RV he was met by a teenager who was rushing through getting him set up to leave, Javier did show up finally, but unfortunately, he neglected to give my husband both the spare tire and the front wheel for the tow hitch. Of course, my husband got a flat tire within 2 miles of our home in Salem. We waited 2.5 hours for a tow truck so we could have the camper towed to our house, take the tire off the next morning (btw, there's no jack either and no real directions for where to place a jack for TAB's), and take the tire to Les Schwab to be repaired. Unfortunately, it could not be repaired and we had to purchase a new tire. When we opened the camper, we were met with an ungodly smell. Turns out the previous renters had not emptied the grey water tank and it stank up the entire camper. We were able to resolve this once we finally (4 hours late of course thanks to the tire debacle) arrived at the RV Park, thanks to my parents having something to freshen up the tank once we emptied it. The camper was also quite filthy inside, the bathroom had not been cleaned and the floor was nasty. I cleaned the camper before we finally unpacked. The next morning, in order to have additional room we tried to make the bed back into a couch so we'd have room to change...no can do, it's nailed together that way, so be aware of that if you're wanting the full TAB experience. Overall, it was not a great rental experience as the final straw was no-one was there at the drop off point when we dropped off the camper, since it was not the greatest part of town we left it with a friend of Javier's, texted him to let him know and went on our way. I will say the kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessities and the fridge/freezer worked really well but other than that there's not much good I can say about our rental experience and it makes me hesitant to rent an RV again.
This tear drop trailer was so much better than displayed in these pictures!!! This was definitely a "Glamping" trip! You will not be disappointed. Just make sure you have 7 pin "male" adapter. We purchased a "7pin" but it was the wrong type and had to go searching for one before we could depart.
First time Renting an rv from RV share, and well, I was worried, skeptical, and overall not convinced that this site was legit. I even went as far as talking to my bank to make a claim on the 240$ down I put on a rental (as I had not heard back from owner after a few days, and was getting nervous). Needless to say the rental site is legit, we got out RV for a great beach trip, and I am very thankful this RV was listed, Tim and Javier were great to work with!!
This was our first time using RVshare.com and our naivety with camping in a trailer was both amazing and potentially disastrous.
It's our fault that we didn't read the fine print or double check on the electrical connections required (7 pin) to enable the brakes and taillights. But we showed up after driving from Hood River to Portland. Javier, the awesome guy who helps Tim, was super sympathetic and lent us his van to pull the trailer. We filled up his tank with $80 in gas to thank him.
THE EXPERIENCE - it was the best camping experience of our life. We didn't have reservations, but took the trailer to Beacon Rock State Park hoping their first come first serve spots were available, and they were! My 7 year old daughter and I slept in the trailer and my husband slept in the van (but we brought a tent for him as a back up). It was so comfortable and warm on a 40 degree night.
We cooked dinner on the camp grills, but used the trailer's kitchen for pancakes and coffee in the morning.
TIP - bring your own propane tank to avoid the filling fee.
We would definitely rent the trailer again...after we retrofit our 4runner with the necessary electrical connection.
This trailer is very new and clean. I was abe to tow this with a mid-size Lexus SUV. It provided great accommodations for my weekend trip.
