There are also several miles of walking trails and a Japanese garden. The Morton Arboretum is open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on major holidays. It’s located at 4100 Illinois Route 53 in Lisle, about 20 miles west of Chicago. Greene Valley is a nature preserve in Woodridge, Illinois, located less than 10 miles from the Chicago Loop. It's named after the Greene family, who settled in Woodridge in 1834. Greene Valley is a great place to go bird-watching, and you'll find 15 miles of trails and a visitor center with exhibits on the natural history of the area.
