Delaware Water Gap

The Delaware Water Gap is a unique experience because it rests between the New Jersey and Pennsylvania border. The gap is formed where the water of the Delaware River cuts through the Appalachian Mountains. This gap started to form 500 million years ago, so this is a very biodiverse area of the country. Vegetation ranges from eastern pine, pitch pine, red cedar, and hemlock, and common animals include black bears, white-tailed deer, and gray foxes. 

American Dream Meadowlands

Also known as the American Dream Mall, this mall was created in East Rutherford, NJ, and opened in 2019. This is not your typical mall. In addition to the shopping opportunities, there’s an indoor ski slope, an NHL-sized ice rink, a bowling alley, a fairly massive aquarium, and a Legoland Discovery Center. The mall houses two full amusement parks that the entire family can enjoy. In addition, the mall offers over 100 eateries, 21 full-service restaurants, and thousands of feet of seating area. 

Ellis Island

Ellis Island is famous for being one of the first landmarks that millions of immigrants saw when arriving to the United States. Home to the Statue of Liberty, the island is accessible by ferry from New York City. This island is home to the federally owned immigrant inspection station, and you can also check out the National Immigration Museum while you’re exploring the seemingly small island.

Akron, OH

With places like the Akron Civic Theatre, the Akron Art Museum, and the Goodyear Theater, it’s easy to see how the arts scene is so vibrant in Akron, OH.
