Couldn’t ask for a better experience
My wife is in declining health and my son had asked me to travel to Ohio to help with a major remodeling project. I did not want to expose her to all the dust and noise and I hit upon the idea of renting an RV that could be parked at his home where I could help and keep a watchful eye on her while working. I contracted with the RV owner to do all the transportation. The RV was delivered about an hour and a half late due to mechanical issues. Once delivered we worked to set up power access from a detached garage. The garage had 60 amp service and we knew we needed a 120 volt circuit with a minimum 30 amp breaker. All this was cleared with the owner before hand. At some point during this process the owner reviewed the operation of the RV with me and disclosed he had experienced some problems with fuses blowing in the electrical system. He had just used his last fuse, there was a pile of blown fuses in the RV, and as I recall it blew again sometime during this process. He said he would go get some but I had to make a trip to the local Walmart shortly and I volunteered to get some and replace the blown fuse for the offending light circuit. It took a while but we installed the correct RV plug with 30 amp 120 volt service. Please note that we had two different volt meters and double checked that we had 120 volt service to the receptacle. Those are simple circuits using one hot wire to the breaker, one neutral wire to the neutral bar in the Square D box and one ground wire to the grounding bar in the box. All double checked and metered. Once we got power to the RV all circuits were working except for the light circuit with the blown fuse. It was 96 degrees in the shade and we needed to get the air conditioner and refrigerator working. The owner left, I went to Walmart, got some fuses and replaced the blown fuse to get the lights working. Now we had time to move our luggage, make beds, etc. I discovered that the queen bed in the bedroom did not have a mattress. Instead there were 2 one inch pieces of memory foam thrown on the bed. Under the memory foam was wood. The foam was larger than the bed which made it hard to put sheets on the bed. My wife and I tried it and she promptly announced I could have the bed she was sleeping on the couch. I slept fitfully due to my hip and shoulder hitting hard wood. Not very comfortable. By the time I went to bed the refrigerator had operated for several hours and was still not cold. An auspicious start to our RV experience. We got up the next morning, ate a little breakfast and at approximately 10:30 a.m. the RV lost all power except for one circuit the television was on. By the way, the refrigerator was still not cold, the freezer was slightly cold. The air conditioner had cycled on and off properly all night. Called the owner and told him what had happened and that the temperature was rising fast. My wife and I moved out to our son's house where all the mess was. The RV Owner spent the next several days working on the problem himself. Eventually he cut the wires to the RV circuit board in the converter and took it with him. He said he was going to unsolder some components and replace them with new ones. That is something that is not easy to do unless you do it for a living. I was present when he checked his incoming power which registered 120 volts. He never did get the power back on. My wife and I spent the rest of the week in my son's house with the mess. I had bought the RVShare insurance, contacted them and was told by their insurance company they don't cover the electrical system. $125 spent for insurance. I am out a total of almost $1,200 plus a $500 damage deposit and I used the RV for less than 24 hours. The owner thinks the fault is ours and has not agreed to refund our money. We are now in the RVShare dispute process. Oh, and RVShare sent me an email after I filed the dispute stating they charge a 10% surcharge on all damage deposit payments. I reviewed everything with an electrician who agrees that the proper steps were taken, that if we had done anything wrong the RV would not have worked for the 18 or so hours we had power. I think the power system was failing before he ever delivered the RV. I am not optimistic the RVShare dispute process will go very well. I filed my information over a week ago and have had no response to date. So much for the RVShare experience.
What an awesome experience from start to finish. The camper was new, clean,on time and picked up on time. They gave me good instructions on everything and gave me 2 phone numbers to get ahold of them 24/7. Again I cant say enough about the experience TOP SELF
Outstanding communication from Patrick at all times. We would certainly rent from Patrick again. The unit was all we needed and Patrick was kind enough to include kitchen and linens. The kitchen items were excellent quality. Everything in the RV worked perfectly. Great fuel mileage. Patrick answered our call twice when we had two small issues. He was very quick to reply and help us out by walking us through it on the phone. thank you for a smooth transaction.
Great - except the lack of cruise control . The RV had cruise but we could not get it to work . RJ was very easy to work with . Texted him with a few questions and he got right back to us .
Mark was an excellent person to work with. Worked very well with me on pickup and drop off times. The camper was exactly as listed. Would recommend his services to anybody.
This was a completely enjoyable experience. Tim was easy to work with and the trailer was everything he advertised and more. Highly recommended.
Brian was very informative and was easy to communicate with. He took the time to show me all the details of the camper and properly train me on the different aspects of set up and break down. The camper was exactly what I was looking for. Very new and clean, AC was very cold, camper was light and compact considering the usable space and amenities. Overall very great experience. Will be renting from Brain for my next trip.
This was my first experience renting or using an RV. Mark was good to work with and don't have any complaints I can think off. I would definitely rent from him again and recommend him to others.
All was good. Owner was great. Unfortunately, the tv dish didn't work, which was a big bummer for trip.
Fantastic RV and owner. I truly can't begin to say enough great things about both. My wife and I along with 2 friends rented this Winnebago for a camping trip in Bloomington, IN at Paynetown Campground. The owner of the RV couldn't have been a nicer guy, and was very thorough in walking us through all there was to know about it. He was also very easy to communicate with if I had any questions. Very responsive to text/phone messages and email. The RV was very clean, and was perfect for our camping trip. Our main reason for renting the RV was the desire to have an air conditioned place to sleep. We were not disappointed! Very easy to setup, use and tear down. I highly recommend this RV and owner to anyone interested in renting!
This was my first camper rental experience and Joe made it so easy starting with great communication and thorough setup/tear down instructions. The camper was comfortable and in GREAT shape! It made my vacation so much better.
My only complaint was that I specifically asked for nine seatbelts and only got seven, but the RV accommodated my family of nine just fine, comfortably.
This Kodiak Cub is a great camper. It was easy to pull and looks even better in person than in the pictures. The owner was extremely kind and responsive; he was genuinely concerned about providing an excellent experience and eager to answer any and all questions. I am looking forward to the next opportunity to rent this camper.
As a first time camper, I was nervous and hesitant. The camping materials provided and comfort of the RV made for an enjoyable experience.
RV is as great as the picture shows. Owners were excellent to work with. Quick to respond to questions. Super clean and well stocked.
Absolutely would reccomend this camper. This was the 2nd time we have rented this camper and everything went great. While we did have a few questions on appliances (rather than complaints), the answers and or instructions were provided quickly and Karen and Larry made sure we were taken care off. The camper itself has just about all of the bells and whistles of the newer/high end campers but at a great rate. We sleep 6 very comfortably. The camper is always very clean and its great to know that linens and dishware is provided if needed. Overall just a great great value.
I think the AC need serviced. Not cool during the day. Also Had a lot of problems with slide out. did not feel like it was safe to operate. The refrigerator and freezer was very dirty from last camper. The Camper had lots of room for my family to move around and sleep. It did seem to be a little cluttered with a lot of things in storage areas but glad some stuff was there.
Camper exactly as described, good communication, easy pickup and drop off, very friendly owner. Great rental experience.
The camper was in great condition. The owners are very nice and friendly. If I need to rent another camper I will be going back to them.
This RV was terrific and exactly what the 4 of us needed for a nice 4 day/3 night camping trip at the speedway in Kentucky. Two guys slept on the bed in the back and one each slept on the pull out couch and loft areas. The guy on the couch was a little cramped (6’ Tall) but not too bad. Plenty of room and having the in motion satellite was awesome.
Great experience renting Wendy's RV. Would highly recommend her to anyone considering. She went above and beyond to accommodate us as much as she could. No issues whatsoever. We will definitely rent again the next time we are planning a trip.
