New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve contains unique geographical features such as pitch pine lowlands and hardwood swamps. There are also 850 plant species on the premises, and a couple of examples include the broom crowberry and the curly grass fern. The national reserve houses hundreds of species of animals, 43 of which have been designated by the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife as endangered.   Batsto Lake Trail is a loop trail that can be found near Washington Township, New Jersey. It is most popular between the months of April and October. The total elevation gain over the course of the trail is 131 feet. Visitors are allowed to bring dogs as long as they stay leashed.

How To Get To New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve

Philadelphia is a short commute from New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve and a common point from which visitors reach the location. Start by getting onto I-676/US-30 E from S Penn Square and N Broad St. After continuing on I-676, take I-295 N to NJ-38 E in Mount Laurel Township. Get off at Exit 40 A from I-295 N. Continue on NJ-38 E. Drive to 4 Mile Rd in Pemberton Township to reach the destination.
