The Musconetcong River, which the Division of Fish and Wildlife stocks each spring, is a great place to fish for brown, brook, and rainbow trout. Hunting is permitted on approximately 400 of the state park’s total 805 acres. Guests are allowed to operate boats with gas and electric motors on the river as long as each passenger wears a personal floatation device (PFD) approved by the Coast Guard. The recreation area includes a 2-mile portion of the Highland Trail, which is a wonderful location for mountain biking, hiking, and sightseeing. Lastly, the premises offer a beautiful rocky walking path that runs along the Musconetcong River and that includes several shaded picnic areas.
