MLB All-Star Game
Also known as the Midsummer Classic, Major League Baseball's All-Star Game pits the best players in the American League against the top players of the National League. The game takes place during baseball's All-Star Break, typically in early or mid-July. The first game took place in 1933, and it has been played each year since except for 1945 and 2020. As an exhibition, the All-Star Game usually determines which victorious league will hold bragging rights. However, from 2003 to 2016, per a change in MLB policy, the game had more significant stakes — whichever league won the had the home-field advantage for that season's World Series.
As of the 2024 All-Star Game, the American League has won 48 times, and the National League has won 44 times. There have been two ties, one that infamously took place in 2002 when the game ended after 11 innings tied at 7-7 when both teams simply ran out of pitchers.
The 2025 MLB All-Star Game will take place on July 15 at Truist Park in Cumberland, Georgia, 10 miles from Atlanta. Fans have a big part in selecting which fielders will play in the game, as fan balloting determines all fielding positions. Voting usually opens about a month before the All-Star Break. In the past, fans would fill out paper ballots while attending games to select their favorite players. Now, all voting occurs online. ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT
The 2025 All-Star Game will take place on July 15. There's more to the All-Star Break festivities than the game itself, though.
The Monday before the game will feature the highly popular Home Run Derby. The top sluggers in baseball will compete to see who can smash the most home runs during the contest, consisting of several time-limited rounds. Major League Baseball puts on several other events and fan-friendly activities leading up to the game itself. For example, in 2024, they included an All-Star Futures Game, an All-Star Celebrity Softball game, an All-Star Red Carpet Show, and the Capital One All-Star Village. ON-SITE AMENITIES
Truist Park has several helpful amenities for guests with disabilities, such as accessible parking, assisted-listening devices, captioning, noise-canceling headphones, and a quiet room. The ballpark welcomes trained service animals.
Truist also has family restrooms, as well as baby-changing stations in all restrooms, a nursing room, kid-friendly concessions, and gluten-free food options for those with allergies.
Like other MLB stadiums, Truist Park has an official team merchandise store, with all manner of Braves-related goodies. There are also a number of food and beverage concessions, like the Carvery and the 1871 Grille. Grab a jumbo hot dog or a bratwurst at Braves Grab & Go, or choose your favorite alcoholic beverage at the Sip.
LOCATION
The address for Truist Park is 755 Battery Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30339. It's located 10 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta in the mixed-use development known as the Battery.
LINEUP
Vote for your favorite position players to appear in the All-Star Game (player ballots and the Commissioner's Office select pitchers). The voting window usually opens sometime in June, but check the All-Star homepage for updates.
RVING AT THE EVENT
Truist Park has no RV sites on its grounds. However, you can find plenty of RV campground options in the Atlanta area.
• Thirty miles southeast of Atlanta, in McDonough, there's the Atlanta South RV Resort. Enjoy full hookups, a dump station, a playground, and Wi-Fi at this pet-friendly property.
• Austell, 17 miles west of Atlanta, is where you'll find the Sweetwater Creek RV Reserve. You can bring your pets here, and you'll also get 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups, showers, cell reception, and membership discounts.
• Take a break from exploring urban Atlanta and enjoy nature at Red Top Mountain State Park, about 40 miles northwest of the city. The prime feature here is 12,000-acre Lake Allatoona, where you can go swimming, boating, and fishing. The park also has biking and hiking trails as well as a tennis court and a mini-golf course. Atlanta gets hot and sticky in the summer. Learn about the right camping supplies to bring with you on your trip so you have everything you need. WHERE TO STAY
The Atlanta Braves play at Truist Park, and the club has hotel partners it recommends for those traveling to see the team play.
• The Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta is right next to Truist Park and has a rooftop pool. The National Anthem restaurant is adjacent to the hotel, which also has a poolside lounge, a lobby breakfast bar, and room service.
• At the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria, guests have access to high-speed Wi-Fi and ergonomic workstations as well as a fitness center and an outdoor pool. The on-site restaurant, Rocks, specializes in regional cuisine.
HOW TO GET THERE
From Downtown Atlanta: Hop on Interstate 75, and take it to Exit 259B. Then, head right on the ramp for I-285 West toward Birmingham / Montgomery. Keep to the right for another mile. Make a right onto Circle 75 Pkwy SE for about 0.4 miles. Make the next two lefts to arrive at Truist Park. You can also use Atlanta's extensive public transportation to avoid driving and parking.
PARKING
Several parking lots surround Truist Park. Check the stadium's parking page for updated pricing. Oversized parking spots are available for RVs. The price is $75 per vehicle to park in Lot 29. Buy your parking permit in advance.
