This is also a fun show for kids, who can participate in archery and laser ranges, and can even fish at a small pond on-site.
Finally, you can attend seminars with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, so your time enjoying Alaska's outdoors can be safe and legal.

There are plenty of reasons to plan an RV trip to the Great Alaska Sportsman Show. You may even want to consider planning a road trip from Seattle to Anchorage for the show.
You may also want to consider a rental from RVshare before the show. This allows you to try out RVs and motorhomes to see if they will truly suit you and your family. You'll want to consider the size of the motorhome or trailer, the number of people it sleeps, and the amenities it offers. Renting an RV ahead of time helps you to determine exactly what you want in an RV before making a big purchase.
If you are RVing, there are several campgrounds in Anchorage where you can stay. If you plan to stay at a hotel or vacation rental, look for places near the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center where the show is being held.

International Airport Rd toward Postmark Dr. Make a U-turn at Postmark Dr and use the right lane to take the Minnesota Dr. ramp to downtown. Merge onto Minnesota Dr/Walter J. Hickel Pkwy. Continue onto I St and turn right onto W. 7th Ave.
There are lots of covered parking garages near the Dena‘ina Center, including the JC Penney’s parking garage, and the garages on Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Avenues. There is limited street parking available as well.
You might also want to consider leaving your RV parked at your hotel or at camp and taking a rideshare to and from the show.
