Motocross is a great event for everyone! The thrills, the spills, the noise, the dirt...it all makes for an exhilarating day no one will soon forget. And since motocross racing is all outdoors, you’ll get to spend a day outside watching racers do some amazing tricks, jumps, bumps, and turns... and having a blast at the same time.
There are quite a few amenities for racegoers! The grounds have open-air festival seating, with a handicapped viewing area and covered Super Ticket Seating and VIP Viewing Areas. There is also infield track viewing via two track tunnels. There’s nearly 100% track viewing from a number of vantage points, an interactive Sponsor Village, concessions, a baby changing station, Jumbotron viewing, and free motorcycle parking with a gear check. You can find more information here.

The full schedule for the 2024 Thunder Valley National can be found here.
Thunder Valley, just a short drive from downtown Denver, has been hosting races for less than 15 years. At first, riders and mechanics struggled with the altitude and summer heat, which made their motorcycle fuel actually boil, as well as being uncomfortable. A few years later, they began hosting races at night. This year, they are going back to daytime races, but thanks to an early June date, heat shouldn’t be a problem.
RV camping is a great way to experience a motocross event! There is dry RV camping available for the Thunder Valley National, and it’s a wonderfully convenient way to attend races. You can watch racing during the day, and head back to your RV at any point to grab a snack, cool off, or take a nap. You can choose between Fan Camping and Preferred Camping, which is closer to the track. Find out more information about camping at Thunder Valley here.
You can also camp nearby in one of many RV parks scattered throughout the foothills of the Rocky Mountains:
Bear Creek Lake Park - has electrical hookups (no full hookups), onsite water-fill and a dump station. There are also showers and restrooms. Visitors can boat, swim, and view wildlife in the area.
Clear Creek RV Park - offers creekside sites with WiFi, showers, and laundry. The campground is a half-mile walk to downtown Golden shopping, breweries, and restaurants.
Dakota Ridge RV Park - has full-service sites, including pull-through and back-in sites. There is WiFi and propane available for purchase. There’s a clubhouse with a fitness center, pool table, fireplace, and book and game library. There’s also a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Chatfield State Park - has full hook-ups or electricity only. All electrical pedestals have 20, 30, and 50-amp service. There are pull-through and back-in campsites, flush toilets, hot showers, and laundry. The park has a lake which allows swimming and boating, and there are wildlife trails and horseback riding available.
RV Camping
