This is the largest trail camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It’s on a wooded ridge a two and a half mile hike from the park’s main entrance, with a few rocks to scramble over on the way.
Why You’ll Love Castle Rock Trail Camp
The camp is otherwise pretty nice. Most sites are shaded by attractive woodland. The higher-numbered sites tend to be the nicest, and the best is 22, which is slightly set apart from the other sites in a very scenic madrone grove.
